With positive impressions left by the Troika satisfaction with the Government

Cyprus and Lebanon have agreed to start direct talks on hydrocarbon production sharing agreements . The subjects of hydrocarbons discussed this morning the Minister of Energy George Lakkotrypis with Lebanese counterpart Gebran Bassil, in Nicosia. As Mr. Lakkotrypis after the meeting in the Ministry , " we have agreed to begin discussions and completed as soon as possible."

On his part, Mr. Bassil spoke of "new era" in energy relations Nicosia- Beirut , said that Lebanon could become a possible alternative market for the export of Cypriot gas and expressed the potential interest of his country's the terminal at the Royal .

Both sides praised the good climate in which the meeting was held , which as reported reflect the level of relations between the two countries.
 
According to Mr. Lakkotrypi made ​​information sharing on energy issues and specifically on the issue of the exploitation of hydrocarbons from the coast of Cyprus and Lebanon .
 
He finally said the two sides agreed to exchange experiences and knowledge , as he said, there are many things that can be learned from one country to another.
 
In his own statements the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Lebanon said that his country will never forget the hospitality offered by the nationals of Cyprus " in good and bad times ."
 
I hope , he added , "to turn these historical relations to real economic relations ."
 
Mr. Bassil also said that his side is open to " discuss everything" and expressed willingness to correct the error , he said, the demarcation between Lebanon and Israel.
 
"We hope that by understanding the future we can fix and build the future together ," he said .
 
He also said that Lebanon is in need of gas, adding that his country could become a potential market for the Cypriot gas.
 
For the natural gas liquefaction terminal at the Royal , Mr. Bassil said that Lebanon sees positive , adding that it could be a possible solution to diversify gas exports country.
 
He added that the two countries share a " boon " rich hydrocarbon reserves , which will be used for the welfare of present and future generations of Cyprus and Lebanon . " With good will and hard work will begin today , will soon be seen good results for our peoples ," he said .
 
He finally that the vision of the relations between the two countries also extends to other areas such as water , transportation , and even wine.
